Catherine Middleton
leads a team of scholars exploring the development and use of mobile and
broadband communication technologies. Funded by the Canada Research Chairs
program from 2007-2017, Dr. Middleton’s research addresses four key themes:
- Individual adoption of the internet and mobile technologies
- Organizational impacts of ‘always-on’ and ‘bring your own’ communication technologies (e.g.
smart phones)
- Building broadband and mobile communications infrastructure to meet the
needs of citizens
- Developing a policy environment to ensure that citizens have access to
information and communication technologies and are able to benefit from their
use.
